Chromebook-native experiment · fictional meeting content only
Track B · no Linux
This install test is for offline speech and translation on this Chromebook. It does not let other people join a meeting from their devices. A Chromebook page cannot host a meeting website.
Runtime
Measured on this device. Chromebook numbers must be collected on a Chromebook Plus.

C. Save for offline
Download progress is shown below. After it finishes, turn on Chrome's Offline mode or disconnect Wi‑Fi and repeat the speech and translation tests. Installed is not the same as offline.

A + B. Speak or type
One person speaks at a time. The microphone is used only while you hold a turn. Human interpretation remains authoritative.
Load models first. The first load can take a minute.
Test translation without the microphone
Meeting captions
Held in this tab's memory only. End meeting clears them.
No captions yet.
D. Second device (not part of this install test)
A Chromebook page cannot accept an inbound http:// connection. This experiment tries the only remaining browser path: a WebRTC data channel with no STUN or TURN, using a QR / paste code instead of a 6-digit PIN. Each viewer needs its own exchange. If ICE cannot find a local path, this is a hard blocker.
On the other device, open the already-installed app's Join page. Paste this offer, then paste its answer below.
